Hi! My name is Cheryl.
I am a work at home mom of three! I live in a small town in Ontario, Canada with my children. They all keep me very busy.
I also work part-time as a seamstress at the sewing store in our small town. I mostly do alterations and teach children's sewing classes
I love to knit and crochet, especially for babies! I was totally inspired by some beautiful cotton thread crocheted baby booties I had come across and I have been making them ever since. I am just in love with them! I have been crocheting and knitting for as long as I can remember! My Grandmother and Mother both taught and shared with me their love for these wonderful crafts.
I have enjoyed sewing in my home for as many years as I can remember. I was taught by my Grandmother when I was a young girl. I can still remember hand sewing rag dolls with her scraps! My love for sewing has grown ever since. I hope someday to pass this passion to my daughters. My list of projects include but are not limited to: bridesmaid and flower girl dresses for weddings, children's clothing, children's costumes, teddy bears and dolls, and household items (curtains, throw pillows, duvet covers, etc.).
In early 2005 I started making and selling children's clothing on eBay. What a huge competition for recognition! I decided after some time to open my own webshop and named it Adrianne Inspired Creations after my first daughter. She was my beginning inspiration to find a means by which I could stay home and still provide for my family.
About four years ago I was introduced to the artistic world of Reborn Dolls. They are so beautiful and lifelike! I was instantly curious and developed a huge interest in learning this art. For the last three plus years I have been proud to bring these adorable collector's items to my website for adoption.
In early 2008 I partnered with my best friend to bring to life her idea of creating a publication about art dolls. Sheri and I have combined our knowledge and skill to bring you a resource to share your passions, Lifelike Dolls Magazine.
In our travels to doll shows for our magazine, I became mesmerized with Ball Jointed Dolls. I particularly enjoy the Asian BJDs in resin. As with most things I indulge in, I usually find some way to "make" things for them. LOL! Now I am knitting, crocheting and sewing for BJDs. I totally love making the tiny knitted sweaters and I am always on the look out for patterns and such to make them and other clothing.
I hope you will pop by now and then and see what I've been working on!
Thanks for taking the time to read about me! Cheryl
